Free Shipping wasn't applied?

You're at the point of paying and your cart totals over $150 but the free shipping hasn't been applied? This can usually happen for 1 of 2 reasons.

1. The total value of the PRODUCTS needs to exceed $150. If the total value of the products is $135 for example and you add $20 for shipping onto that to make $155, it won't count towards the free shipping. It HAS to be a total of over $150 in PRODUCTS for it to be enabled.

2. You haven't checked out using the "Checkout" button. For some reason it doesn't apply if you do any form of express checkout either through PayPal or Shop etc. you need to click the "Checkout" button for it to apply. There's no fix for this.

I also won't be going in and manually refunding any shipping going forth if you didn't receive the free shipping. It means I'm then out of pocket and at the end of the day, I don't have to provide a free shipping service at all, this is just a courtesy service.

Shipping & Returns

Free shipping on all orders over $150 will automatically be applied at checkout. This is a courtesy service and subject to change at any time without warning.

A flat rate fee of $20 Express Post will be charged for all shipping. This fee applies whether you buy 1 or 100 plants, 1 or 100 pots, 1 or 100 notebooks etc.

Express shipping usually delivers in 1-4 business days.

All plant orders will be posted on either Monday or Tuesday and will only be sent via Australia Post Express Postage.

All other orders will be posted on the next available business day.

Tracking will be provided after the completion of packing your order on the Sunday or Monday after you've placed your order or the following day if it's a non-plant order. Please let me know if you have not received a tracking number.

I can guarantee that the products are carefully and safely packaged, however, once the item is handed to AusPost, I am not liable for any damages caused by them or any damages after delivery.

A refund will not be issued if incorrect delivery address is provided.

A refund will not be issued if item is damaged through transit or upon delivery.

A refund will only be given if sufficient photo proof is given of damaged items WITHIN 7 DAYS of delivery. The damaged item must be returned and shipping costs will be refunded once item is received.

How are plants shipped?

Plants are shipped bare rooted. This means that the plants are removed from their pots and excess soil is removed from the roots. So please make sure you have spare potting mix before your new plants arrive! Occasionally I will send a plant in a pot if it's still small or if there's only 1 or 2 plants in the order. It's a case by case situation and is totally my call when packing the orders.

The plants will be wrapped in damp sphagnum moss as to not let them dry out. Upon arrival, gently remove the moss from the roots and then place the plant in the size appropriate pot. Please contact me if you’re unsure of what size pot to use via the contact tab or Instagram @elusive.plants

Cuttings will be sent in damp paper towel inside of a Ziplock bag.

Weekly Auctions

The weekly auctions are to be treated like any other plant purchase upon successfully winning the auction. You must promptly pay for the item and the shipping. You're welcome to add more items to your order as well.

The auctions will run from Monday to Saturday evening and ideally the winner will pay that night so I can pack the order the next day.

The plants will range from common to more rare, it'll change each week.

A hidden reserve price will be set. If the reserve price isn't met, the plant will not be sold.

A starting price will be set for each plant along with minimum bid increments that will vary based on the plant up for auction.

Automatic bidding is active. If you're unfamiliar with what that means, you enter a fixed amount and it will automatically bid for you until someone outbids the amount you entered. The bid increments are based off of what the minimum bid increments are for that specific auction.

Popcorn bidding is also enabled. What this means is that the auctions are set to end at a certain time Saturday night but if someone places a bid a minute before it's due to end, it will push the auction back 1 minute and it will keep doing that until people stop bidding within that 1 minute window.

To place a bid, you need to have an account on the website and be logged in.

How do I care for Colocasia plants, and what should I expect when ordering one?

Colocasia plants are tropical stunners that thrive in warm, sunny environments. They prefer full sun and grow best when placed in bog-like conditions or, at the very least, watered daily to keep their roots constantly moist. These plants are very fast growers, so with the right care, you'll see impressive growth in no time.

However, it's important to note that Colocasias are quite temperamental when it comes to shipping. Due to their large, delicate leaves and moisture needs, they don't always travel well. Depending on the size of the plant, I may need to cut off all the leaves before posting to ensure it arrives in the best possible condition. Don't worry—once planted and properly cared for, your Colocasia will typically bounce back quickly and produce new foliage in no time.

Do I ship to quarantine states?

Not yet. Hopefully in the future I will. If you’re located in WA, NT or TAS, you’re welcome to buy something that isn’t a plant. I'm more than happy to ship clothing, stationery or pots. Contact me for a quote via the contact tab or via Instagram @elusive.plants

Do I ship outside of Australia?

No. I have no plans of doing this either as of yet.

Do I allow pick up of items?

I do! If you live near Beresfield, NSW or are willing to travel, then you’re more than welcome to arrange a pick up time. Unfortunately though, I don’t allow anyone onto the premises. I operate from my home so privacy is very important to me. The collection point is at the front gate and will be discussed at the time of pick up arrangement.

What does "Non-TC" mean?

Taken from Google…

“Tissue culture (TC) is the cultivation of plant cells, tissues, or organs on specially formulated nutrient media. Under the right conditions, an entire plant can be regenerated from a single cell. Plant tissue culture is a technique that has been around for more than 30 years.”

Aka, the plants labeled “Non-TC” have been grown from cuttings of plants that were propagated from old plants or grown from seed.

Do I have proof that these plants are in fact not tissue cultured? No. But I’m trusting my sources with the information they have provided me.

The jury is still out on TC vs. Non-TC plants. Some people don’t care, others don’t like TC plants. TC plants can sometimes come out not looking how they are meant to which go on to be sold as a different type of plant. There’s arguments out there that suggest TC plants genetics aren’t as strong and are more susceptible to pests/viruses etc. but I’m not educated enough to comment on that.

Do I allow people in to see the greenhouses?

Unfortunately not at this stage. I run all of this out of my home and I live with other people so privacy needs to be respected. Hopefully in the future when I’ve moved and have a lot more space I’ll be able to have people come and have a look around though!

Do I take preorders?

Short answer, no. Sometimes I may tease upcoming releases of plants or products on my social media accounts but until that item has been released, I won’t be accepting any orders on them.

Where do I get my plants from?

A lot of the plants I sell are from propagations from my own private collection. I will also sometimes buy from other sellers, grow them out then sell them on or sometimes I may get them from wholesalers.

Will you receive the exact plant pictured?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I will state in the description of each listing if the plant pictured is the one you will receive. If the plant is more common, I will often just use a generic photo and say you’ll receive a plant of similar quality. If it’s a more rare plant, I will often post the exact plant photographed.
